Police say they received a call shortly before 2:30pm and were sent to Ouellette Ave and Elliott St West, near the Enwin building.
Officers had cleared the scene over an hour later and the sidewalk has been reopened.
Police say a 36-year-old man is in custody, and another man has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
