Demolition At Duffy's Tavern Starts Wednesday

Whether you consider it an eyesore, or you have many good memories there, Duffy's Tavern in Amherstburg will soon be nothing more than a memory.

The Town of Amherstburg says structural demolition on the Dalhousie St. landmark starts Wednesday and is expected to take about 11 weeks to complete.

The property will soon be transformed into the town's latest waterfront project, an expansion of King's Navy Yard Park. Plans for public consultation and the second phase will be announced soon.

The proposed development will include plans to move the marina, new boat slips and more green space.

Duffy's Tavern opened 55 years ago and closed last year.
