Workers at a Lakeshore aerospace manufacturer have hit the picket lines.
Employees at Heligear-Northstar Aerospace in Lakeshore are on strike after narrowly rejecting a new contract agreement Sunday.
The vote, which took place Sunday morning, was 51% against the deal.
The workers are represented by Unifor Local 444. Picketing began outside the facility soon after the vote result was announced.
Parts for Apache helicopters and aircraft engines are produced at the facility, which employs roughly 60 people.
Wages and longer shifts appear to be the biggest sticking points in negotiations.
