Amherstburg police seized a gun during a traffic stop this week.
On Tuesday, Amherstburg police stopped a vehicle driving 90 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Essex County Rd. 11/Walker Rd.
During the traffic stop police asked for a roadside breath test and the 18-year-old driver refused. At that time the driver and the passengers were asked to get out of the vehicle.
Police found an open bottle of alcohol behind the driver's seat and a .22 calibre revolver.
The driver of the vehicle is facing multiple charges including speeding, driving with liquor readily available and failing to surrender insurance and permit.
A passenger of the vehicle is charged with possession of a prohibited firearm.
