Spitfires Beat Greyhounds 4-3 In OT

The Windsor Spitfires shot down the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4-3 in overtime at the WFCU Centre on Thursday.

The Spitfires were off to a good start with Luke Boka and Aaron Luchuk scoring back-to-back goals in the first period to put Windsor in the lead. Gabriel Vilardi tacked on another goal late in the second to give the Spitfires a 3-0 advantage.

However, the Greyhounds gained some momentum to make a comeback in the third, but scoring three goals in a row to tie the game and force overtime.

Graham Knott scored the game winner for Windsor 1:44 into OT.

Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro made 21 saves out of 24 shots on net.

The Spitfires will battle the London Knights on Saturday at the WFCU Centre. The puck drops at 4pm.
