Windsor Regional Hospital Celebrate Super Bowl Sunday With Newborn Cocoons

Windsor Regional Hospital is celebrating Super Bowl Sunday by dressing up newborns like footballs.

Staff will dress all infants born today in a special "football cocoon" knitted by the president of the Metropolitan General Hospital Auxiliary. The families of those babies will also be invited to take part in a group photo session at the family birthing centre's waiting lounge.

It has become a tradition for staff at the family birthing centre at Windsor Regional's Met Campus. This is the third year in a row the hospital is celebrating Super Bowl Sunday. Last year, hospital spokesman Ron Foster says four dads were photographed with their new babies.

Foster says it is just about impossible to predict how many football cocoons will be used this year.
