Spitfires Fall 4-3 In Shootout With Rangers

Despite an early lead, the Windsor Spitfires dropped a 4-3 decision to the Kitchener Rangers in a shootout on Tuesday.

Jalen Chatfield and Jeremiah Addison scored in the first period to give Windsor a 2-0 lead, which the Spitfires held onto in a scoreless second frame.

The Rangers fought back in the third to score twice, tying the game 2-2 with just over five minutes left to play. Luke Boka scored in the final minutes to put Windsor back in the lead, but Kitcher added one of their own to tie things up with just over a minute left before the buzzer.

After no scoring in overtime, Kitchener was able to capitalize with forward Connor Bunnaman scoring the only goal of the shootout for the Rangers.

Despite the loss, Windsor outshot Kitchener 47-42.

The Spitfires return to the WFCU Centre on Thursday to take on the Ottawa 67's at 7:05pm.
