The competition pool at the WFCU Centre is ready for the athletes of the FINA World Swimming Championships.
"We're right on target. The pool is done on time, we're going to be ready for our athlete training to start tomorrow, everything else is falling into place. There's been, like any organizing committee, a couple hiccups and a couple learning curves along the way," says Kelly Stefanshyn, operations director.

The former Olympic swimmer was the first one to test the waters.
"It's great. It feels like a great pool. It's almost the right temperature we got a couple more degrees to go by the time athletes train in it tomorrow but it feels good, really good," says Stefanshyn.
Racing pools are heated to 79 F or 26 C.
This weekend athletes will begin to arrive and start training at the WFCU competition pool, warm-up pool and at the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre downtown.
Opening ceremonies for the FINA World Swimming Championships are Monday night.
