More Armed Pharmacy Robberies In Windsor

The Windsor Police Service is searching for a man who it believes held up two pharmacies last Friday.

The first incident happened on Tecumseh Rd. E at Mercer St., around 9:15am.

Police say the suspect walked up the the counter with his face covered by clothing, flashed a knife and demanded drugs.

Just a half hour later, on Tecumseh Rd. E near Ford Blvd., a second pharmacy was robbed in a similar fashion -- also at knife-point.

The suspect is being described as a white man, between 25 and 30 years old, standing about 5' 11'', and was wearing a burgundy zip-up hoody, grey jogging pants with white lettering, and a dark-grey or black mask over his face at the time of the robberies.

He was last seen walking south on Rivard Ave.

These incidents represent the sixth and seventh pharmacy robberies in Windsor over the last two weeks.  Officers have made arrests in two of them so far.

Due to such a high volume of pharmacy robberies, the OPP and Windsor Police Service are now launching a checklist that pharmacies can go through, in order to protect their businesses from being robbed.
