Custom Eyewear Company Wins $3,500

A custom eyeglass start-up company is getting a boost in funding after a 12-week program at the University of Windsor Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre.

Scott Sanger owner of Print Eyewear is the winner of the RBC EPIC Founders Pitch Day competition and will receive $3,500 toward his business.

Print Eyewear creates custom eyeglass frames using face scanning technology and 3D Printing.

"We create a 3D scan of your face, combine that with a little bit of technology and create custom eyeglasses that are best suited for your facial features," says Sanger.

Sanger was part of the 12-week program at the EPI Centre with ten other start-up businesses.  They were all given funding to work throughout the summer on their business ideas.

"They get that so they don't have to get a part-time job and work through the summer. So hopefully they will work only on this, they have to come in for the 12-weeks and be a part of the group," says Francine Schlosser , executive director of the EPI Centre.

Through the support of the EPI Centre all companies have already made revenues or have proof of a buyer.
