South Shore Health Care is hoping to become a centre of excellence for mental health and addictions treatment for Leamington and surrounding areas.
"A place where people and families can go for education and treatment and as well prevention," says Roberta Jarecsni, clinic leader.
The centre is located at 15 John St. in Leamington and currently houses a satellite location of the Erie St. Clair Clinic for addictions treatment. The facility will also house a pharmacy and other treatment services like counselling.
Jarecsni is hoping to establish the South Shore Health Care centre as a not-for profit organization that can receive grants and funding from the Erie St. Clair LHIN.
"Through various funding pockets we'll create this centre of excellence over time. It's not something that happens in a hurry. We expect it will take about five years," says Jarecsni.
