Open House To Talk About Lakeshore Trails

The public is invited to comment on options for new bike and multi-use trails in Lakeshore.

The meeting at the Atlas Tube Centre in Belle River starts at 4pm and wraps up at 8pm Tuesday night. Those who go will get an update on the County Wide Active Transportation System, and more specifically plans to put in a new trail along Old Tecumseh Rd.

Manager of Transportation Planning & Development, Jane Mustac says there are already a few trails open in Lakeshore.

"We just built some paved shoulders that allows some extra space on the key road that gets you to Lighthouse Cove," she says. "We also built trails around County Rd. 25 which is Puce Rd."

Once the county has public feedback on its options, it will put together a proposal for the Town of Lakeshore. Mustac says the trail will likely be built in phases over the next two or three years.
