University, HDGH Release Sunshine Lists

Ahead of this year's March 31 deadline, more public-sector employers in Windsor-Essex are releasing their so-called sunshine lists.

Under the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, any organization that receives public funding must report all salaries above $100,000.

Last week, the City of Windsor, Windsor Regional Hospital, the Greater Essex County District School Board and the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board released their lists.

At the University of Windsor, 546 employees made more than $100,000 in 2015. Of those, 27 employees made more than $200,000. President Alan Wildeman was the only employee that topped the $300,000 mark with a salary last year of $317,000.00 with a taxable benefit of $38,859.55.

Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare's sunshine list is considerably shorter with just 36 entries. President and CEO Janice Kaffer made the most, $300,007.60 with a taxable benefit of $11,645.04. The only other employee to top the $200,000 mark is the hospital's Chief Financial Officer, Marie Campagna with a salary last year of $224,991 and a taxable benefit of $1,459.35.

Factoring in public salary disclosure lists released last week, the top public servant in the region is Windsor Regional Hospital CEO David Musyj with earnings in 2015 of $420,468.58.
