The Town of Essex has earned a 5 Bloom rating to win its category in the Communities in Bloom competition.
Essex is the winner of the 9,001-20,000 population category with a special mention for Harrow Veterans Memorial Park
Over the summer, trained volunteer judges travelled to participating communities to evaluate the overall contributions to tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, urban forestry, landscape and floral displays.
The Town of Essex competed against Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and South Huron, Ontario.
