Paul Martin Building Sold

The federal government has sold Windsor's Paul Martin Building to the city for $1.

The long term plans will see the University of Windsor convert the space into a new downtown law school.

While Mayor Drew Dilkens says the University still has a lot of work to do before the conversion can happen, he says school officials have been very receptive to the space. He adds the city has been talking to the feds for months about the purchase.

"Just working through federal government disposal rules, and the way they have to go through disposing their properties, and which to choose from," he says.

Dilkens adds getting the facade of the Oullette Ave. property fixed up was an important step in the buying process.

There is no timeline yet on when the University can officially start work on the school.
