Tecumseh is looking to roll out a regional cycling system by connecting its bike lanes to Windsor.
"You don't really see a lot of the communities doing (this) because they're afraid of being territorial," says Tecumseh deputy mayor Joe Bachetti.
He says it's about creating communities without borders. "If you're at Lakewood Park, which is our new waterfront park ... how can you get to the Ganatchio Trail," says Bachetti. "Well, we need to finish off that little link that's missing."
Town staff has also been tasked with putting in new bike lanes throughout the town immediately, not wait for studies or reports. "Look at some roads that we can paint lines on right now and get it done," Bachetti says.
