Bail For Suspect In E.C. Row Crash

A 22-year-old Tecumseh man, charged in a fatal crash on the E.C. Row Exwy. Tuesday night, is out on bail.

David Cassady appeared in court Wednesday on one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and one count of criminal negligence causing death.

Around 10:55pm, a 66-year-old Amherstburg man riding a motorcycle died in the collision in the westbound lanes. Investigators interviewing witnesses at the scene discovered a car rear-ended the motorcycle.

The impact threw victim from the bike and when officers arrived a witness to the crash was performing chest compressions. Paramedics on the scene pronounced him dead.

Windsor police are still investigating whether distracted driving and alcohol were factors in the crash, which closed the expressway in both directions for almost 16 hours.
