Housing Sales Remain Strong

Housing sales continue their upward trend in Windsor-Essex, posting a 10.7% increase in May.

The Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors says 588 homes were sold last month compared to 531 in May of 2014.

Year to date, the numbers climbed 21.9%.

The association's monthly report also shows the average price of a home in Windsor and Essex County increased 12.1% to $208,441. The average price last May was $185,982. So far this year, the cost of buying a home is up 7.2%

Central/Downtown Windsor had the highest number of listings and sales. While 133 properties were listed, 73 sold. In the county, Lakeshore continues to have the most listings at 123. There were 92 homes sold in Lakeshore in May.
