Parkway Gets LaSalle Noise Exemption

It's another noise bylaw exemption in LaSalle for parkway construction, this one for the next six months.

Mayor Ken Antaya says the Parkway Infrastructure Constructors have responded to complaints in a responsible manner.

"They've never violated [the noise bylaw] to any great extent," says Antaya. "Nothing substantial and they've respected the residents' concerns as well. Whenever we've received a complaint, they've generally attended to them."

Antaya expects this will be the last noise exemption needed.

"When you consider you've been at it for over four years, let's just finish it off right and make sure everything is done as was expected," says Antaya.

The first day of construction on the $1.4-billion project started August 2011.
