Windsor Police credit a passing motorist for helping them arrest a suspect after a stabbing at a home in the 5400-block of Lassaline Ave.
Officers were called to the home around 11:45am Sunday after a 25-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen. At first, the suspect was locked in the basement but he got away and police called in the K-9 Unit to track him down.
The dog led officers to a chain link fence at the tracks on South National, so police waved down a passing motorist who agreed to drive them to the 1100-block of St.Louis Ave. where the dog picked up the scent again. Eventually, the suspect was arrested behind a building in the 5400-block of Wyandotte St. E.
Meanwhile, police are investigating two other stabbings over the weekend including one at an apartment in the 400-block of Wyandotte St. W Saturday night. Two suspects allegedly attacked a 48-year-old man, but the victim refused to give police a statement.
In the third stabbing early Sunday morning, a 21-year-old man is in stable condition in the hospital after he was stabbed in the back at an apartment in the 100-block of California Ave. A 20-year-old woman faces aggravated assault and assault with a weapon charges.
