A New Windsor Landmark

You'll soon be seeing a massive Canadian flag as you drive into Windsor on Ouellette Ave. or down Riverside Dr.

The city has approved the Great Canadian Flag Project, which will place a 150 ft. pole with a flag, 60 ft. by 30 ft., at the foot of Ouellette Ave., in Dieppe Park.

Fundraising Chair Michael Beale hopes to see it flying by Canada Day. "One part of the dedication ceremony will be a citizenship swearing-in. So there will be new Canadians celebrating under the new Canadian flag on the waterfront."

Beale says his team now needs to raise $300,000 to complete the project, but believes it'll be a breeze.
