Thom Racovitis Remembered For Generosity

Thom Racovitis, the former owner of the Tunnel Bar-B-Q, has passed away at the age of 73.

St. Clair College spokesman John Fairley knew Racovitis for years and says Windsor will sadly miss his business know-how and generosity. "There is so much charity work that was done by Thom Racovitis," he says. "(He) helped this community have a good fabric of fundraising and a good fabric of giving back."

Internationally known for its ribs and barbeque chicken, the restaurant attracted guests on both sides of the border. It closed last year. The University of Windsor plans to erect a new arts school on the property.
