Vipers Looking For Consistency

It's been a trying season so far for the LaSalle Vipers.

As the team enjoys its Christmas break, it sits fifth in the GOJHL's Western Conference with a record of 17-16-0.

Head Coach Bill Bowler says player injuries and suspensions hasn't helped the roster gain much continuity. "It's part of junior hockey. Every team deals with it, it's just that with such a young group, you're trying to put some pieces in place and try to understand exactly what you have. It's just been difficult that way."

The streaky Vipers won four of their last five games leading into the break. LaSalle's longest winning streak through the first half of the season was six games to start the year. It also suffered a five game losing skid at one point.

Bowler says improving team defence will be a focal point for his team as games get back underway in January.
