A new satellite office is in the works to raise awareness and give Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex a bit more reach.
Executive Director Mike Van der Vlist says the goal is to form a committee and possibly a new chapter working out of the office. "Habitat for Humanity would be able to build homes more often in the county and in Windsor and expand so the message of habitat is grabbed by as many people as we can reach," says Van der Vlist.
The satellite office will be located in the Leamington or Kingsville area, which should be up and running in six months time.
"It's going to not only raise awareness, but we've never left Leamington," says Van der Vlist. "Our trucks still travel out there, we conduct salvages. We're supported through Kingsville, Leamington and Essex with our trucks doing pickups. So the support has always been there, we just want to build on it."
