New Shoes Keeping Kids Active

Kids from more than 230 families in Windsor-Essex will be getting a new pair of running shoes, thanks to a donation from Scotiabank.

The bank is giving $8,000 to the United Way's Shoes For Schools campaign, which hands out vouchers to kids in both school boards so they can easily afford new footwear.

Grade 8 student at Immaculate Conception Uonaka Mandila says it allows her to stay active. "Right now I'm playing volleyball, and I'm going to play basketball. I also play soccer and badminton."

This is the third year that Scotiabank has donated to the Shoes for Schools campaign.
