The Windsor Spitfires are set to honour defenceman Ryan Ellis by retiring his jersey in a ceremony next month.
Ellis, who currently plays for the Nashville Predators in the NHL, will attend the ceremony prior to the Spitfires-Knights game on January 30, 2016 at the WFCU Centre.
“It's going to be an honour to have my jersey retired,” says Ellis in a media release. “I can't wait to see all my old friends in Windsor.”
Ellis played for the Spitfires for four season from 2007-2011, before moving up to the AHL to play for the Milwaukee Admirals.
Further details about the ceremony will be posted at www.WindsorSpitfires.com in the coming days.
