It's a celebration of Sarnia baseball.
The first ever Brigade Family Day goes this Saturday at noon from Errol Russell Park.
Senior team head coach James Grant said it's an opportunity to bring all of the teams together, from 8U all the way up to the men's team.
"We're going to have a game between our junior team and our senior team and raise a little money. We got some great prizes -- Sting tickets, TV, a signed Patrick Kane jersey -- and we're going to give a prize out between every inning, actually, with everybody in attendance," said Grant. "So we got games for the kids and stuff for the adults too."
Grant said the day will also honour the memory of a former player who recently passed away.
"Ian Brydges, he actually won Eliminations back in 1994 with the Braves, he's coached, and he's got one son on the senior team and one son on the junior team," he said. "We're looking to get a good day in for someone that was big in the Brigade family, so it's a double-meaning for sure."
First pitch between the two Brigade teams is set for 1 p.m. and admission to the event is $4.
"We're going to put that money towards the program and just try to make sure that, in honour of Ian, we continue into the future with all of the teams we got," said Grant. "We're pretty strong and we're just looking to make sure that we keep providing top tier baseball in Sarnia moving ahead." Grant added that their two older Brigade teams look strong.
"The senior team's been really playing well -- we're third in the country right now. And this is our first year bringing junior on board, so it's building step by step," he said. "I really think we're turning the Brigade into an organization from eight-years-old up until the men's team that can compete in the province and Canada, and that's the goal to move ahead with."
Saturday's event will also feature a pop-up Sarnia baseball museum. Grant said it'll feature gloves, jerseys, hats and other memorabilia.
"We're going to create like a hall-of-fame experience where you can walk through and look at Sarnia baseball's past," he said. "And we got some pretty good stuff there for people to check out."
