Swedish Sting blueliner invited to national team camp

Sarnia Sting defenceman Eric Hjorth is among 22 invitees to Sweden's World Junior Summer Development Camp August 24 to the 29th in Uppsala.

The 19-year-old had 29 points including 12 goals in 60 games last season.

The 6 foot 3 inch, 192 pound right shot defenceman was the Sting's 17th pick overall in the 2019 CHL Import Draft and is a fourth round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Sweden captured bronze this past January in Ostrava, Czech Republic and last won gold in 2012. The Sting's Ludvig Rensfeldt was a member of that championship team.
