Perreault highly rated in Central Scouting rankings

The Sarnia Sting's Jacob Perreault is among 57 OHL players included in NHL Central Scouting's midterm rankings ahead of the 2020 draft.

Perreault is ranked the 17th best North American skater, which means he will likely be taken in the first or second round.

He's had a strong sophomore season, putting up 26 goals and 25 assists over 39 games. In his rookie season he potted 30 goals and added 25 assists in 63 games.

Rimouski's Alexis Lafreniere remains at the top of the list, followed by Sudbury's Quinton Byfield, and Jamie Drysdale of the Erie Otters.

Saginaw's Cole Perfetti, and Ottawa's Marco Rossi round out the top five.

Perreault will take part in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects game on Thursday night in Hamilton.

The NHL Draft is scheduled for June 26-27 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
