Former Sting captain back in North America

A former Sarnia Sting captain is back in North America.

Defenceman Kevin Spinozzi has signed on with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old Granby, Quebec native played 25 games with the Bolzano Foxes in Austria this year, putting up two goals and six assists.

He was playing with fellow Sting alumni Domenic Alberga, Justin Fazio, and Jamie Arniel.

Last season, Spinozzi played 44 games with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL and scored 17 goals and added 21 assists.

Spinozzi played three and a half seasons with the Sting, scoring 25 goals and adding 73 assists in 212 regular-season contests.

He was initially acquired from Sault St. Marie during the 2013/14 season. Tyler Hore and Bryan Moore went to the Hounds.

Former Sting defenceman and Glencoe native Dan Watson is the head coach in Toledo.

He's joined on the bench by Andy Delmore who was the Sting's assistant coach for two seasons.
