Former Sting forward Konecny signs in Philly

Former Sarnia Sting forward Travis Konecny is sticking around in Philadelphia.

The Flyers have signed the restricted free agent to a six year contract extension worth $33-million.

The 22-year-old played two and a half seasons with the Ottawa 67's before being dealt to Sarnia part way through the 2015-16 OHL season.

In 31 career regular season games with the Sting, the London native scored 23 goals and added 33 assists for 56 points.

Konecny has 59 goals and 65 helpers in 233 games with the Flyers.
