Carolina drafts Sting's Rees

Sarnia Sting forward Jamieson Rees was selected in the second round, 44th overall, by the Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL draft.

Despite dealing with injuries during his two seasons in the OHL, Rees has 15 goals and 52 points in 83 regular season games.

Rees was the only Sting player to have his name called in the draft.

Sting draft picks Case McCarthy, Josh Nodler, and Anthony Romano were selected by New Jersey, Calgary, and Arizona respectively.

Other draft eligible players included Brayden Guy, Ashton Reesor, Ethan Langevin, Anthony Tabak, Alex Hogue, Justin McCombs and Nolan DeGurse.
