Rapids bring home five medals from regionals

A group of Sarnia swimmers brought home some well deserved hardware from the WOSA SC Regional Championships.

The Sarnia Rapids swim team brought home a total of five medals from the event in London earlier this month.

Maddisson Hawryluk, 15, won silver in the 200m breaststroke, Kayla Marshall took home the bronze in both the 200m fly and 100m freestyle, and Jack Giirardi, 14, also won two bronze medals in the 50m backstroke and 100m backstroke.

A total of 15 swimmers from Sarnia Rapids, alongside their coach Sue Weir, competed in the weekend long event against teams from all across South Western Ontario.

The Rapids continue to train towards earning qualifying times to attend the upcoming provincial championship meets.
