The Sarnia Braves got their Southwestern League season underway on a positive note Monday evening, with a 9-5 victory over the Ilderton Red Army at London's historic Labatt Park. Sarnia was held to just one hit until breaking out for five runs in the eighth and four more in the ninth. McKenzie Maxwell had three RBI's in the win while Paul Sheeler pitched five innings in his senior debut. Wade Babula picked up the win for Sarnia, while Anthony Shepherd also took the mound. Mike Damchuck shut the door in the ninth to close things out. Sarnia is back home Wednesday night for another exhibition match up with the Midget Braves at Blackwell Park, first pitch is scheduled for 6:30pm.
