Legionnaires Edge Preds In Overtime

Ben Schoch's second overtime winner of the season helped the Legionnaires get by Lambton Shores 5-4 at Sarnia Arena Thursday night.

Both of Schoch's goals this season have been overtime winners.

Lambton Shores jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the second period, scoring all three goals on the man advantage. Eric Marsh and Jarret Marks scored goals for Sarnia to pull within a goal through 40 minutes. Marks scored with just two seconds left in the second period.

Nash Nienhuis tied the game 7:51 into the third period, but Ethan Sarfati regained the visitor's lead just under a minute later. With the extra attacker, Eric Marsh's second of the night forced overtime with just over a minute left in regulation. Ben Schoch slid home the lose puck 2:13 into the first overtime to give Sarnia their fifth straight win on home ice. Up next for the hockey clubs, Lambton Shores hosts St. Thomas Saturday, Sarnia is in Chatham Sunday
