At 6:58 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and loonie to ping pong ball size hail.

Several severe thunderstorms are affecting Chatham-Kent . The first is located near Moraviantown and is moving east at 30 km/h.

The second is located near Grande Pointe and is also moving east at 30 km/h.

Wallaceburg
Grande Pointe
Tupperville
Dresden

Hazards:
Wind: strong (up to 90 km/h)
Hail: up to golf ball size (up to 4.5 cm)

Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.

At 7:02 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time Thursday, Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for Southwestern Ontario. Extra care and attention should be exercised in and around the following localities: Windsor, Essex and Chatham-Kent. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.

Expect a day of partly cloudy with clear spells

The day will start with partly cloudy through the late morning hours, transitioning to clearing
