Pathways welcomes new CEO

Pathways Health Centre for Children has officially announced Paula Gilmore as the new chief executive officer (CEO), succeeding Alison Morrison, who announced her retirement earlier this year.

The child health care center announced Gilmore's appointment on October 8. She will officially step into the role on November 9.

“We are thrilled to welcome Paula Gilmore as the next CEO of Pathways Health Centre for Children. Paula is a proven leader within the healthcare sector, and the board is confident that Paula’s strategic vision and alignment with Pathways’ mission and core values make her the best person to lead Pathways into the future," said Board Chair Ray Meyer in a statement.

Gilmore has over 25 years of healthcare experience, currently serving as the director of Rehabilitation Services, Stroke, Geriatrics and Rural Health at Bluewater Health.

Pathways also noted Gilmore's clinical experience in pediatric and community care as a registered occupational therapist.

She holds a Master of Science from Western University, a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Queen's University, and a Certified Health Executive designation from the Canadian College of Health Leaders.

Gilmore is also a team leader and surveyor with Accreditation Canada and has served on several provincial and regional committees focused on rehabilitation, stroke care, geriatrics, quality improvement, and system planning; read a media release from Pathways.

“I’m truly honoured and excited to join the Pathways family," Gilmore said. "I look forward to working alongside this incredible team and our community partners to support children and families, help every child and youth reach their fullest potential, and build on the wonderful work already happening at Pathways."

In her new leadership role, Pathways said Gilmore will help guide the organization's mission to deliver defined services to children, youth and young adults with physical, developmental and communication needs.
