Sarnia police arrest two, seek a third on assault and threat charges

Three men are facing multiple charges after an investigation by Sarnia police.

Members of the Major Case Action Team worked with the Emergency Response Team and the Criminal Investigative Division on a probe that began in October 2025.

Police reported that in October and November, two people were assaulted and held against their will in a house on Russell Street. In one instance, one of the suspects allegedly entered the victims' bedroom, kept them from leaving, and assaulted them. One victim was apparently shot in the face with what was believed by police to be a BB gun.

"Police have also learned that another male later attended the same residence armed with a knife, threatened the victims, stabbed the bed near them, threw a table at one victim, and assaulted the other victim while making threats to kill them," read a release from Sarnia police.

Another incident took place on January 11, at a house on Devine Street. The suspects showed up to say that they wanted to apologize for the previous incident, but instead, they again allegedly prevented the victims from leaving and assaulted them.

Police also received Facebook Messenger chats sent to the victims in March and May, which contained repeated death threats.

Warrants were executed on Friday, resulting in the arrests of a 48-year-old Sarnia man and a 59-year-old Sarnia man.

Both are facing two counts apiece of assault and forcible confinement. The 59-year-old is additionally charged with four counts of uttering death threats, two counts of possessing a dangerous weapon, three counts of assault with a weapon, and breach of a release order.

Sarnia police are looking for 41-year-old Michael Derek Williams, who is charged with two counts of assault, two counts of forcible confinement, carrying a concealed weapon, causing bodily harm with an air gun or pistol, possession of a dangerous weapon, two counts of pointing a firearm, two counts of assault with a weapon, and breach of probation.
