Police seeking help in identifying alleged gas thief

Sarnia police are appealing for the public's help in identifying an alleged thief.

Police said a man operating a dark blue or black Dodge Durango, allegedly filled up the gas tank at a pair of gas stations in the city and drove off without paying.

The first incident happened on February 3 at a London Road gas station. The suspect pumped approximately $125.50 worth of fuel and left without paying.

An investigation by police determined the rear licence plate was not registered to that vehicle.

On February 16, it's believed the same suspect vehicle drove off without paying for $100 in fuel at a gas station on Indian Road South.

Police have released surveillance photos of both the suspect and vehicle.

If you have any information you're asked to contact the Sarnia Police Service at 519-344-8861 extension 6190 or Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stopper at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
