Visiting Rangers double Sting 6-3

The OHL leading Kitchener Rangers doubled the Sarnia Sting, 6-3 at Progressive Auto Sales Arena Wednesday night.

Beckham Edwards scored twice for the Sting in the loss, Brenner Lammens also scored for Sarnia.

Sting goalie Patrick Quinlan made 26 saves in net.

Sarnia is seven points behind Saginaw for the eighth and final playoff spot with seven games remaining.

Edwards said every day everyone is coming in to work and everyone wants to make the playoffs.

"There's not a doubt in my mind that every single person in that room wants to win, wants to make the playoffs," said Edwards. "Everyone is super hungry out there."

Sting Forward Jack Van Volsen said they're facing some of the top teams in the league right now.

"We have some more top teams coming up, it's been like this for a while but every game is kind of a playoff game," said Van Volsen. "So it doesn't really matter who were playing, we have to approach it with all we've got and we're going to have to do that for the last couple games here."

The Sting are home to the Flint Firebirds on Next Gen Night Friday. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.

The night will celebrate the future of Sting hockey by putting kids in the spotlight and letting them experience what it’s like to be part of the team.

During the game, selected Next Gen Kids will take on exciting junior roles, including Jr. Starting Lineup, Jr. Broadcaster, and Jr. Social Media Manager creating unforgettable, behind-the-scenes moments on game night.

You can catch the game live on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM).
