Planned toll hike at BWB to start in December

Tolls are going up at the Blue Water Bridge (BWB) next month.

As of December 1, entering Canada at the international crossing will cost $5 (USD), up from $4 (USD).

It's the second year in a row the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has increased the Canada bound toll.

MDOT had announced the planned toll hike last year after conducting a public survey.

As of April, 1 2025, the Federal Bridge Corporation said US bound passenger vehicles were paying $7 (CAD) to cross the Blue Water Bridge.

The rate for commercial vehicles per axle is $5 (CAD) if paying with the Connexion pre-paid account, or $7 (CAD) if using debit or credit.

Cash is no longer accepted at the Blue Water Bridge.
