New executive appointed at Women's Interval Home

A new executive director has been appointed at the Women's Interval Home of Sarnia-Lambton.

The board of directors said Corrie Henderson brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the non-profit sector to the role.

Board Vice Chair Emily Burden said Henderson's experience and passion for women’s rights made her an ideal candidate.

"Under Corrie’s leadership, the Women’s Interval Home is poised to strengthen its reach and further its mission of building safer, healthier communities," said Burden.

Most recently, Henderson served as executive director of One Spark, a charitable organization she founded to help women experiencing violence achieve financial independence through entrepreneurship.

She's also served as the managing partner of MindBridge Strategies, where she provided strategic, governance, and policy development expertise to a wide range of non-profits, including several women’s shelters in Ontario.

The interval home delivers emergency shelter and crisis services to individuals, families, children, and youth.

Henderson replaces Jennifer Vansteenkiste who resigned earlier this year.
