Lambton OPP is advising residents of a circulating text message scam.
The text claims that the victim was caught speeding on a monitoring camera and will have to pay a fine.
Provincial police are warning people to not click on the link included in the text.
"You will never be asked to pay a traffic fine via text message," read a post on X by OPP West Region.
Police are instead advising people to delete the message and report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501. There is also an online reporting system.
