Used book sale hoped to be 'worth the drive' to Corunna

The Optimist Club of Moore is working on a new event it hopes will be "worth the drive" to Corunna.

Bins have been set up at Bluewater Foodland in Corunna, Chris' No Frills in Corunna, and at the Mooretown Sports Complex to collect gently used book donations.

Books can also be dropped off at the Fire Services Building in Corunna at the corner of Lyndoch and Hill Streets on three upcoming Saturdays, May 10, 17, and 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The club asks that no magazines or textbooks be donated.

The Spring Book Sale will be held at the Optimist Hall at 392 Lyndoch Street in Corunna on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Most books will be priced at $1 or $2.

"We are enthusiastic about making this a quality event that will be worth the drive. Please mark this on the calendar. Help us make a difference," a media release said.

The club said the fundraiser will support club operations.
