UPDATE: Power outage impacts around 1,900 people in Sarnia

Nearly 1,900 people in Sarnia were without power for about eight hours.

According to Bluewater Power, an unplanned outage at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday impacted customers in the central and downtown area.

Power was fully restored shortly before 3:30 a.m. Monday.

The utility said equipment failure was to blame for the lengthy outage.
