Lambton OPP is stressing the importance of adhering to commercial driver electronic log regulations following a crash in Enniskillen Township.
Police responded to a report of a commercial motor vehicle requesting a tow on Petrolia Line, west of Forest Road on Tuesday at around 10:17 a.m.
OPP said the driver told officers they were attempting to complete a U-turn when they backed into the ditch, and became stuck.
During the investigation, officers reviewed the driver's logs and identified several violations but did not specify what they were.
The 37-year-old driver from London was charged with making an unsafe move and two counts of driving after 16 hours since their last break, without eight hours off.
"Accurate log-keeping is crucial for ensuring compliance with hours-of-service regulations, which are designed to prevent fatigue-related incidents on the road. Violations can result in significant penalties and pose serious safety risks to all road users," Lambton OPP said in its media release.
