Parking garage fire temporarily closes Sarnia streets

Sarnia police temporarily closed sections of Christina Street, George Street, and Vidal Street due to a fire on Sunday at the Kenwick Building.

Emergency crews were called to the building's parking garage at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Sunday due to a vehicle fire.

No injuries were reported and the fire was not considered suspicious.

Police issued an update at 2:20 p.m. to advise residents that area roadways had been reopened.

Sarnia Fire Rescue Service's Public Education Officer Mike Otis said the cause is undetermined.

A damage estimate is unknown at this point, however, damage was reported to the vehicle itself and heat damage was also reported to a vehicle parked nearby.
