Local celebs are practicing their dance moves ahead of this year's Sarnia Dancing with the Stars.
Event coordinator Eve Morgan-Langille said money raised from this year's gala will benefit Ohana Landing, a supportive transitional housing facility for youth 16 to 24-years-old.
"It's affordable and safe housing for youth who are homeless or on the verge of homelessness right here in our community," said Langille. "It gives our youth who are experiencing that the opportunity to have access and use community supports as well as have a safe space to work on themselves, learn life skills, go back to school, find employment and actually feel like someone cares about them."
She said the gala was forced to take a break because of the pandemic, but she's thrilled to bring it back.
"So I've been doing it for at least seven years and funny thing, I was actually in the very first Dancing With the Stars in Sarnia-Lambton many, many, many moons ago," said Langille. "And once you do something like that, you're hooked. You want to dance, you want to keep on dancing because it's so much fun."
Local celebs participating this year include Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce CEO Carrie McEacheran, musician Scott Manery, Dr. Khalid Al-Saadon of the Sarnia Anti-Aging Clinic and the Tax Force's Steve Levack.
The four celebs and their professional partners will take to the dance floor on Saturday, May 25 at the Four Points Sheraton in Point Edward.
