City police look to ID suspect in assault investigation

Sarnia police are asking for help in identifying a suspect in connection to an assault investigation that occurred outside of a Queen Street apartment complex earlier this month.

Police said a male suspect allegedly struck someone in the face after they were denied entry into the building.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. on February 12.

Police said the victim entered the common area of the apartment complex when three people (two men and a woman) tried to follow behind.

They were reportedly evasive when the victim asked if they lived in the complex or who they were visiting.

Police said the victim refused to let them inside and when he tried to prevent a male suspect from entering he was assaulted and sustained minor injuries.

Officers said the unknown parties fled the area.

Police released a picture of a suspect on Monday.

Anyone who's able to identify him or provide information about the assault investigation is asked to contact Constable Ryan LeBlanc at 519-344-8861 extension 183.
