Sarnia's Canada Day fireworks contract extended to 2028

The City of Sarnia has extended its contract with a pyrotechnic company, which will see the cost of Canada Day fireworks hover around $35,000 per year over the next four years.

The city's Canada Day committee has worked with Garden City Fireworks since 2013.

An agreement entered in 2018 allowed for a four-year optional extension, as such the contract has been extended to 2028.

The total cost amounts to $141,853 and will be funded through the Canada Day - Fireworks budget.

A breakdown of the costs under the four-year agreement are listed below. 

2025 - $33,450

2026 - $34,950

2027 - $35,500

2028 - $35,500
